Kopa stared at her. "Wow, I never knew you had that in you..." He mumbled. He had not honestly expected Shani to snap at him. Anyone else? Sure. But Shani? That surprised him. "Leave?" Kopa asked. He felt himself get angry. But he calmed himself and turned away from her. He wasn't gonna leave, yet.

What in the hell had Kopa done now? He had to of screwed up somehow with the way the young medic was bellowing at him. “Excuse me luv” He excuses himself from the young kitchen helper and strides over towards Kopa catching Shani’s angry request for the young prince to get the hell outta there.
“Kopa” Silver’s eye flashes that crimson color. “Ye best be doing as they say” he growls “our leader- Jasper isn’t in the mood to deal with you. Give him some space lad” the ursid ordered. He glances towards Jasper giving him a sorrowful look, that he understands.

Kopa saw Silver walk up to him, and he groaned. He knew Silver was going to tell him the same thing. And he was right. He got to his paws. He had two options. Be a complete brat, or try and be mature about this. He chose the latter.
He couldn't stop himself from huffing with irritation or hiding the annoyance in his blue eyes. He stifled himself before he could say anything more, though. Then he turned and left without a word.

"She's healing well," Hikaru nodded quietly towards Zamora in position besides their leader. The pit beast had bounced back remarkably well from a being that had been close to death, but after what Hikaru had been told about their breed, she wasn't surprised.
Silver's warm hand fell on her shoulder and Hikaru couldn't help but tense in reaction before consciously relaxing her body. It was rare for Hikaru to be touched in a non-hostile manner. Her body's natural instinct was to brace for an attack, muscles coiling to counter attack. She was still growing accustomed to the more familiar gestures of the various freedom fighters. The first time Rapunzel bear hugged her, Hikaru nearly flipped the medic on her back.
"I feel responsible for her as the person who found her..." Hikaru shrugged the shoulder Silver wasn't grasping without looking away from the scene in front of them. A scene that quickly changed from somber grief to one of confrontation. Hikaru's dark eyes blinked, the only sign of her surprise at the sudden outburst from Shani. Hikaru hadn't seen the little medic lion so forthright since the night of Zamora's arrival. The lioness had taken control of the situation promptly and cleared the way of non-essential people and got orders ahead to camp. It had been very impressive display of leadership.
It seemed Shani was growing more comfortable in asserting herself.
With everything going on in the moment, Hikaru thought it would be best to give the Freedom Fighter leader some privacy. She should have stuck with her gut instinct and guided Zamora away before intruding on this moment. Moving near silently towards the party Hikaru gently placed a hand on one of pit beast's arms.
"Zamora, let's go..." her voice was respectfully quiet.

Zamora seemed plenty content to sit as a silent, stalwart ward between the leader and any intrusions. The first voice she hears is.. the small medic. Shani, as she'd come to learn. The one who'd taken command the day she'd fallen to this planet.. Earth. From what Zamora understood, the smaller one was also blind, marking another small bonding point for the Pit Beast and this ragtag group of fighters. The next was an approach, and a warm voice she knew well, and had comed to enjoy. She'd really taken to Silver, and not just because of his cooking, either. When not busy, she tended to wander his way, enjoying just... being in his presence. A social creature, it seems... The next is...
Oh. She remembered Kopa well. Very well. And it seemed that she wasn't the only one that was displeased with his brand of... lack of tact. In fact, not only can both other blind folks see there's something sad going on in the graveyard, but the smaller even gives him high hell for it. Zamora seems to let Shani and Silver handle it, in lieu of her own flavor of communication, which she deemed too loud for this situation,
When Hikaru makes the motion for them to leave, Zamora instead turns to Jasper. He'd been very kind to her, even forgiving her for the slight on her first night, a thing she herself still felt rather bad for. She lightly touches his leg to get his attention, and then motions to herself, then Hikaru.
It seems she's asking if he'd like her to leave. She'd been able to sense his tension and relaxation earlier, from the looks of it, and didn't want to leave the leader high and dry.

He didn't want to deal with Kopa, he didn't but he would if Kopa wanted to stay. He couldn't just dismiss him so haphazardly. After all, somewhere amongst all the graves laid to rest was Simba too. Not that he deserved to be buried among the people he basically murdered...
It was honestly a sore subject for Jasper, but he refused usually to let it drain on him. But today? Today Kopa was nothing short of a knife in his side. Deep cutting and bringing all too familiar hurt that he was already dealing with, he was something that wore down on him. He had tried to keep himself together but he felt himself breaking with every little word sputtered from the boy's mouth. Every conversation they had was worst than the next. Perhaps not because of him solely, but the guilt that hung in his own chest. Either way though, he did not have the patience to deal with him.
So when Shani lashed out, ripping him a verbal new one he was surprised. On top of that Silver joined in, chastising the young adult like he was still a cub. Their efforts were quick to pay off, Kopa turned and headed off without another word and Jasper felt relief if only for a second. Though the sniffling of the tiny cub beside him tugged at his heart. He wasn't sure what took over him next, but within an instant, all of his attention was on her.
He adjusted the way he sat, placing his rump on the ground before scooping the cub up into his arms. He pulled her close, a quiet embrace to bring her comfort. The sensation was so familiar, bringing back a whirlpool of emotions. Gods how he missed his son. He was in no position to be father then but he loved that boy more than the sun and stars. His soul ached but he refused to let it show, fingers stroked through her dusty colored fur and he pressed his face against her. Everyone else around him was still noted but he didn't care that they could see this side of him. The compassion in him too far great to ignore.
The sound of Hikaru's voice hardly made him miss a beat. A soft breath leaving him. "She's fine, Hikaru. Everyone's fine. You all can stay. I don't mind the company. And I'm sure the dead don't either."

There's a... hum here. One low and soft as she senses Jasper pick up Shani to hold. She's been permitted to stay, something she's thankful for. She didn't want to leave. Even with the incident prior, she rather liked Jasper. He'd been kind to her, and his sorrow weighed heavily on her.
There's a soft grunt, and something of a matryoshka doll effect takes place. Once Jasper seems to be settled with Shani, broad arms reach over and pick up Jasper, drawing him into her lap instead. She doesn't even seem concerned with the concept that he might fight it, instead burying the lower half of her face into his hair and coiling her arms around his middle snugly. It's here a low, gentle hum starts up.
A tune, from the larger, something from her home. Slow and sorrowful, a song for the dead, for mourning, and for healing. Each note seems to resonate deep within the Pit Beast's chest, sending rumbles through the small cuddle pile that seems to have started up.
There's a gentle rustle as Zamora's hair shifts. A large, humming barrier against the sorrow around them.

Shani let out the tiniest of squeaks when Jasper picked her up suddenly. She hadn't been expecting the contact, but her nerves calmed quickly enough as he set her down in his lap. The cub blinked as she felt warm arms wrap around her, fingers combing through her fur, a familiar feeling of comfort that she lacked in the recent months, so much so that she almost forgot what this felt like.
She sunk into Jasper's embrace, letting her head fall against his chest as tears welled up in her eyes. There was so much pain, so much hurt, but it had gone unspoken for so long. Shani buried her grief over the need to help others, she ignored the tugging pain in her chest whenever she thought of her mother. But every time she so much as had to hear Kopa, every time she heard him ask about his dad, it just seemed like those feelings were trying to claw their way back out again. It was Simba's fault her mother was gone. Simba had been the one to send all those people to their deaths in Agrabah. Part of her was glad he was gone. Did that make her a bad person?
She buried her nose into Jasper's shirt, trying to shake away these thoughts and feelings. The sound of Zamora's humming brought her more comfort, it broke the burning silence that hung in the air. Tears started to fall, and in a quiet, broken voice, she muttered, "Thank you Papa..." She hadn't meant to call Jasper that, but she didn't bother correcting herself either. Right now he felt like the closest thing to family that she had.

The Beast was feeling less and less necessary by the second. He was beginning to wonder why he’d shown up at all. Really he had no business being there. But at least he knew to keep his mouth shut. He was aware he wasn’t the most graceful guy with words. Even so, this wasn’t enough to stop his frequent verbal train wrecks once he got going. So, he waited until things quieted down, reserving his comments on the earlier situation.
He lifted a paw and let it run down the back of his mane. Well, he was going to have to start acting like a leader eventually; that meant he had to be a strong foundation for his people to cling to. Anything was better than standing around awkwardly. Beast continued to shuffle forward but stopped with still a comfortable amount of distance between himself and the others. He turned so his side faced them, only looking from the corners of his eyes.
“Um. If it means anything,” his low voice sounded quiet and unobtrusive like a small breeze, “I’ll do what I can to protect these people.”
The eight-foot furry monster would have looked brave and stoic if he hadn’t started to drop his head and eyes at the last moment, significantly making him look smaller.

Hikaru nodded quietly after Jasper gave his consent. But she couldn't help but hold a hand out to stop Zamora from lifting up Jasper. Her concern was unwarranted, though. It seemed the pile of comfort and care was welcomed by all. She dropped her hand and then retreated back to her respectful distance.
Hikaru still felt as if she didn't belong in this space of grief and subsequent comfort. The least she could do was not intrude. Carefully Hikaru retreated to her earlier position by Silver. Beast stepped up shortly afterwards and voiced his own promise in an attempt to add to the comfort everyone was trying to share.
She respected his words and wished she had thought to say something similar.
