January 19th, Year 1 It was rare that he lounged around most days. His time usually preoccupied with tracking prey or moving through the jungles back in India but it felt now that he had an actual 'job' all he had was free time. So. Much. Freetime. It could really drive a cat nuts. Claws tapped against the stone wall he was sprawled on, trying to find some form of amusement. Even if it was just currently terrorizing the ants the pittered by on the concrete slab. His mentor lessons with Gurri were often proving to be very uneventful as well, as well as fruitless, it was almost as though every method he tried to teach her was met with hesitance or complete lack of inability to learn. Which was odd for such an intelligent fawn. It left both of them frustrated. Two different sides of the same coin, the coin being the army they were on... A hefty sigh of boredom left the tiger when his golden gaze caught the shifting shape of something nearby. His head turned to glance and a frown tugged at his rough features. Now, who could that be?

Shenzi was up to her usual passtime when boredom struck; hunting. There was nothing around that was worthy game (well, not anything that she wasn’t barred from killing, like livestock) but then again, she was known to harass meerkats even when she could take down much more substantial prey. Striking terror into the hearts of the local rat population was more a venture of entertainment for her than substance.
It wasn’t like she had anything better to do. Whether she was elected an assassin or not, she still felt as any of the Rogues would hardly give her the time of day. With all these smelly two-legs running around with their technology and magic, who would bother with a lowly animal? Shenzi felt unwanted. And, quite frankly, she didn’t think it was worth her time giving her two cents to a bunch of uppity apes. You weren’t worth anything if you couldn’t be like a human.
Shenzi clearly did not forget easily.
Wack!
A crack sounded from the stones as she whipped the rat clutched in her jaws, smashing its skull against the pavement. The rodent dispatched, the matriarch swiftly trotted over to a pile with no less than three dead rats already accumulated.

It seemed as though Khan's golden gaze had been as keen as ever. Only a few feet below him was the matriarch Shenzi. He didn't really know all that much about her, but he did know one thing and that was that they agreed on something. The thoughts of only a few days ago were still fresh and bitter in his mind, and he was more than sure it was in hers too. What should have been a simple get in and out mission turned into a right out miscommunication fest right and left of everywhere and it left the tiger king feeling scorned and sour.
Even if Clopin had put an end to it quickly or not. He still felt irritable and just outright pissed off at the fact that these men thought of themselves better than the creatures of the jungles, and grasses around them. As if they had some sort of superiority over them.
Sure, they had the red flower, but if it weren't for that they most likely would be fighting for their lives against beasts like him still. Hell even beasts like Shenzi too. It was almost a joke that they found themselves more inclined, or patient then them. Or even the fact they could remotely tut at the fact they were 'apex pedators' or whatever the hell that meant, even the beast that looked like them but stood on two legs agreed with those fools and that just pissed Khan off all the more!
Humans were odd, and Shere-khan was starting to dislike Paris even more because of it.
His rapid fire thoughts were shooting through his mind so fast that he had almost failed to notice the 'THWACK' of something that collided with the stone, but lucky the sensation of the hit trembled up into the stone he rested on. His gaze fell onto the hyena below, and his brow seemed to furrow. It took a moment but his lips parted, showing off yellowed gnarly teeth before he breathed out sharply so as to speak. "And what do I owe the pleasure of having you in the midst of my presence again, Shenzi?"

Shenzi’s amber eyes briefly flickered from her bowed head before she released her grip on the rodent and brought her neck fully up. She seemed mildly peeved about being interrupted, before her gaze went this way and that, pausing at a few nearby buildings. A cheeky smirk tugged at one side of her face as her eyes squinted.
“The walls, keeping us in” she stated simply, “Being confined in this maze of rocks. Tch. It’s not like I could leave it now if I tried. We were bound to bump into each-other eventually.”
She rolled a shoulder, akin to something like a shrug and lazyly began to lean into a turn.
“What are you doing with these bozos anyway?” she asked, looking from the corner of her eye, “I know why I’m here. ‘Cause I don’t have many other options. Bhahaha.”

A brow was idly raised as Shenzi spoke. No amusement flitted across his features as she went on about being kept within the walls of Paris. He had to agree, it felt more confining than what he was used to but after his squabble with Mowgli in the past, he resided to slinking around old architecture hidden within the Indian jungles. It was safer to be there instead of out in the open where he would be ridiculed while he recovered from his burns and other injuries.
"One could technically leave, you would just have to come flitting back at some point or another." He then shrugged his shoulders almost boredly. "Or not." He moved to lay his head back down against the stone which he was perched on. Taking the moment to really study the hyena, it made him miss the days when Tabaqui would sculk around his legs. He was the only friend he actually had in the past.
He turned his gaze away from her at the question, almost scowling. "Excellent question. I'm not quite sure..." He tutted more to himself before he gave a rough shake of his head. "I mostly came here looking for a man cub, but it seems he's not here. At least not yet."
