"Oh, hey Kiara," a gentle voice said from the barn. Out stepped a young human girl, her thick boots crunching on the snow underfoot and her thick padded jacket swishing and rustling as she waved a gloved hand to the young lioness. Fenna had been keeping herself busy by doing odd jobs around the camp; mostly helping build more structures and collecting resources, as well as helping cook food. In her hands she held a bowl of soup that steamed alluringly in the cold air, thick with potatoes and chunks of meat; it was not the most filling meal, but at this point, the Dawnseekers were taking what they could get starting from scratch. "You came back just in time, the soup is warm and fresh, if you're hungry."
She of course took notice to the strange man walking beside her. "Who's that you got with you?" she asked, a little nervously. "You shouldn't just be bringing any stranger you meet to the camp." She observed Atlas, searching his body language for any suspicious giveaways, but the guy did not seem like he had any bad intentions or was hiding anything. But he definitely had some kind of ethereal air about him, but what exactly gave her the feeling, she couldn't say.
"I mean no offense, obviously," she added, adressing Atlas now. "We've just been having a rough time here lately. If you want to talk to the council, I know Dhall is on the other side of the barn. If you're interesting in joining, you're going to have to go through them first."

“While certain caution should be taken, I think Kiara deserves some credit. If this creature were of any danger, I think we’d be down one princess. Besides, we could always use more capable, willing bodies. We’ve got quite the climb ahead of us.”
The deep smell of incense gives the Forge Queen away before her voice does, and the latter of followed by her veil of warmth as she approaches. Stone slides through snow, melting a distinct path straight to the dirt along the way. The Elemental shifts, and she seems to lean slightly to get a better look at Atlas. There’s a long silence as she seems to think, before her lips twitch slightly. A smile pulls at magma, and her tone turns warm.
“You’re a familiar soul. I’m not sure where from, but... what’s your name? We’ve got warm fires and food inside, if you’d like to come in for a spell. You both look like you could use a good thaw.”

"Ah..." A mite of caution offered a pause to Kiara's tongue as she glanced up at Atlas, taking her eyes from where her paws had been falling. Oddly trustworthy though he felt the lioness knew she couldn't be completely open with what information she offered. She was not a leader to reveal secrets to someone who might or might not join the Dawnseeker fold. Not even something as 'trivial' as the exact number of their highest hierarchy tier. "A few. They're very powerful, but they're fair too. You don't have to worry."
Perhaps she was smudging reality a little -- the Dawnseeker Council had been chosen based on leadership ability rather than sheer strength. Building a reputation of invulnerability could serve as well as armor. If a rumor could make an enemy hesitate to attack any member of the Council then the entire army was safer.
Rimmed ears perked towards the figure exiting the barn as her name was called. Kiara's tail flicked in greeting.
"Hey," She returned with a wry expression, "I hope they have a 'carnivore-only' option this time. No offense to you omnivores but chewing some of those vegetables is more trouble than the upset stomach is worth." Again a flick of the tail served as a gesture, though this time towards Atlas. "This is Atlas. He seems interested in joining us, so I offered to bring him to meet with an officer."
I mean, I think he's okay, her expression seemed to say as the lioness peeked up at the man from the corner of her eye. From the relaxation about Kiara's eyes and the hint of curled lips it was clear to see that whatever had transpired between man and lioness had won her over. Not an easy feat considering the recent events. Whether that assessment carried weight however was up to any who noticed her change in attitude.
Kiara's head ducked a bit with a shy smile at Dhall's compliment -- at least she thought it was a compliment. It was harder to tell with other species. Feeling like she might have done something right was a nice change. "Thank you ma'am. Getting warm sounds nice."

The TV-face hadn’t been with the Dawnseekers long. They appeared somewhat recently. Though, for being a Thing from the Void… Bivile had a pretty easy time going unnoticed; they just weren’t very imposing. They sat criss-cross applesauce in the snow, their solidified-rubber-like skin apparently completely unaffected by extreme temperature, reading a hardback copy of “Man After Man” with a set of reading glasses somehow hovering over their screen. It wasn’t long however before they lifted their coiled birdlike tube of a neck. Antenna twitched alertly at the difference in behavior.
Bivile had a tendency to immediately stick like glue to only the most overt of evil characters. One might go so far as to say they had a neigh parasitic relationship with every villain she came across. They would serve -- supposedly for the sheer personal pleasure of it. It went without saying none other than the Gourmand was on her radar. Literally. They allowed him to a put a communicator into their head day one.
They shoved their book into their hoodie pocket and got to their feet. Metal antenna twitched as they relayed a signal, emitting a snakelike;
“Hissssssss.”
Aside from anything in Mother Tongue, this seemed to be the only vocalization Bivile was capable of in their own voice. The wretched thing skulked forward, head low and hands twitching, like a friggin oviraptor.

Lost was not the word he wanted to use to describe the occurrence in himself, the more faces he spotted the more confused he felt. While his exterior stayed completely relaxed and poised his insides were raging war on each other, the absence of memories and the agony of not having them being the most prominent of all the emotions that he felt. Why did he not remember these people? He could swear by everything that he was that their names and their origins were something locked away within him. Each face, no, each person was a settled fragment in the static noise of his mind and soul. Blurred and distant but so close one could almost touch it. The only relief was that the more he heard the voices the more clearer they became. The less the veil of blur skewed their images.
He was pulled forcefully back to his reality as Fenna addressed him. There was a small incline of his head in greeting before he turned his sun glow gaze towards Kiara. She had looked up at him, the smallest pull at the corners of her maw was something that reassured him that he was making the right choice. It was then the hiss of melting snow caused his head to lift and turn towards the source. His mind called out in a whisper that could just barely be heard above the snow hissing. A name, he had a name even before she introduced himself and it almost made his body shake. However lucky for him it just looked like the snow was getting to him when his body started to shiver, relief and more struggle rushed through him. A piece in this maddening puzzle, it was sweet relief and bitter torture.
Another quick incline of his head was given towards the elemental, a glimmer of happiness in his eyes as his lips pulled into a fleeting smile. "I would appreciate that, it is quite cold out here." He chuffed lightly as he shifted his weight to his other leg. "Atlas... The world dubbed me Atlas." His gaze kept on the elemental for a moment longer before shifting around back and forth between the Council Member and the Dawntreader. "Who might you two be if we are doing this-" He gestured lightly with frigid palms. "Introduction thing."
