It was all white noise, a distance hum of voices all jumbled together to poor Afua, body trembling with the emotional weight of everything.
"We'll do what we can for Kopa, I promise. Please,"
Leaning forward Kiara brushed her muzzle to their foreheads, a gentle press of her nose in something not dissimilar to a kiss.
"Don't leave the camp. I'll let you know as soon as we come to a decision."
“Kiara” Afua’s voice wheezes out in a broken crack at the kiss, fresh tears spilling from both his good and damaged eye the tear duct still thankfully working.
“Okay,-Yeah”

The Gourmand’s viewpoint was very reminiscent of Boso’s, and...he had a point. If there was to be a rescue, it would mean asking her people to put their lives on the line, and that was not something she could do lightly. After what happened to her mother... no, not just her mother, half of the Freedom Fighters. Good, honorable Freedom Fighters gave their lives, and all that came from it was a single life on the opposing side. So many lives were lost, all because their leader at the time couldn’t see the bigger picture.
Shani wouldn’t make the same mistake. She couldn’t have it on her conscience to send people to their deaths for Kopa’s life.
Besides, Kopa had been the one foolish enough to go to Agrabah with only one other soldier as backup. He was rash, stubborn, and seemed to think nothing for anyone but himself. Did they really want to risk their soldiers lives to rescue someone who had been nothing but trouble for them?
Someone who had been nothing but a bully to her, and a nuisance to everyone else.
Her jaw clenched as these thoughts sprung to mind, tail flicking back and forth as her sightless gaze stared forward. She did not want to rescue Kopa. He hardly did a thing for this army aside from complain, and make everyone else’s lives harder.
It didn’t matter if he was her girlfriend’s half-brother. He certainly didn’t act like family to them, unless it was convenient for him to do so.
“Fine, bring him. I have questions for him myself.” Her tone came off more sharp and bitter than usual.
