Secrets of the Ancients

Varian tried not to look sheepish at Khan's comment, laughing softly, "no, I mean I've been on small boats around Corona's shores, but never a ship in the ocean!" He rubbed a hand over the back of his neck, "I suppose I'm also just...Excited to stretch my legs!" He admitted, it had been a whole lot of being cooped up in his lab, and he'd missed the fresh air of a good adventure. Yeah, this was serious business, but that didn't dash his eagerness to be doing this.

His attention was drawn as Bob began to explain, and he was held in rapt awe at the story, eyes damn near shining, "what I wouldn't give to study the scientific advances they've likely made," he breathed out, "being cut off from the influence of everyone else, it is all probably so phenomenal!" He was almost too excited to catch the bit about the Leviathan. Almost.

"Fascinating," he repeated, less terrified of the thought and more enthralled by it, he looked to Sophia when she spoke and tilted his head to the side, "how are we going to do that? Magic? Disguises?" He asked, assuming they'd thought that far ahead, he was curious what they had in mind to remedy the issue.

Shere-khan's features twisted with tension as the unicorn began his spill of the 'world' they would be exploring. His jaw clenched with uncertainty whilst his hues narrowed a degree. Technology and advancements more than the world that they currently dwelled in? What were these beings they were about to encounter exactly. His maw moved to open just before Bob referred to the Leviathan and tinted ears cocked forward.

The ancient leviathan would pose no threat to them due to the method of transport they would be taking but the mere knowledge was enough to make the tiger's body stiffen. He had already seen some horrors in this war, things that had not quite expected so the thought that there were even more daunting things out there had his throat tightening.

His scarred muzzle scrunched in concern. "Interesting." His teeth became visible as he pondered over what such a beast would look like. Would it share the same mechanical features of Shanty? Just ten times her size or worse? What his mind made up for the beast to look had his pelt shuddering with discomfort and he could not stop a roll of his shoulders.

He was eager for a topic change though his face didn't reflect such. "Will we be dressing them up look like these Atlanteans?" He inquired with a small cock of his head. "What exactly does Orichalcum look like? And how are we going to find it without every eye within the city on us?"

[Taylor]

“Man, you guys sure have a lot of questions.” Taylor said, turning her attention away from steering their small boat for a moment, with a smile on her face. She then turned towards Sophia and Shere Khan.

“But yeah, on the topic of that, how are we gonna blend in? Did you bring clothes in those saddlebags?” Taylor asked, pointing towards the brown canvas bags hanging down on either side of the two siblings. Sophia nodded in response, as she lifted the flap up off of one with her magic, before levitating a small pile of clothes into Taylor’s hands. Bob repeated the same procedure with one of his own saddlebags, and gave the clothes to Varian.

“These are traditional Atlantean clothes that Bob and I managed to snag a while ago.” Sophia said, with a wink. She suddenly stood up from her reclining position, ears perked towards the water.

“Everythin’ okay Sophia?” Bob asked.

“Can’t you feel it? I think we’re right up against the veil.” Sophia said, as she motioned for the others to follow her lead. Taylor threw the Atlantean clothing on and took hold of Bob.

“Same as last time, hold on to each other and don’t let--!” Taylor managed to get out, before they were transported just outside the furthest reaches of the city, which was sparsely populated.
