Physical Description: A big yellow-gold pachycrocuta/dinocrocuta hybrid. She has large brown spots with lighter red spots on her undercoat. Her mane is brown. She has yellow eyes.
Personality: It’s a bit jarring to see such a stone cold serious hyena. Haki is typically quite confident, although this is not to be mistaken with arrogance. She will eventually admit defeat, but this isn’t to say she won’t put up resistance at first. Although quite stern, her goals are not to make other animals miserable. She is proud of her species and nothing strikes a nerve more than dislike or misunderstanding toward them – which happens rather frequently. Because of this, Haki has grown to become bitter. While she does not do so unprovoked, she will often make quite a case for herself when confronted with those who look down upon others. If she’s unsure of anything, she tries not to show it and tries to remain natural for as long as she can. Due to events in her past, she is suspicious of lions and, depending on how a lion behaves, can be rather abrasive (though this is never unprovoked). She doesn’t look to please any crowds, but she does look to live up to her own standards.
Backstory:
Haki was born to a former matriarch, Tweed. When she was a cub and her burrow was left unattended, a group of vengeance-seeking lions raided the burrow. Her screaming brother was carried off. Though a handful of cub-killings occurred in the years to follow, none struck Haki as much as the death of her brother. It is because of this that when the time came for Haki to usurp her mother as the new matriarch, she maintained her clan's (the Valkyries) military might -- and sought to strengthen it. Instead of simply staying put in the savanna, Haki was the one to establish her clan's expansion with raiding parties. Though Haki herself would only lead what she felt were the more important raiding missions and leave a trusted mystic or warrior in charge while she was absent.
At some point however, Haki must have broken ties with the Valkyries as now she has become a full-time Rogue. What exactly happened is unclear. Her choice of Rogues as her affiliation seemed based mostly in that she sure as hell wasn't taking any orders from lions. She appears to have adapted to metal armor quite swimmingly.
