Dawn Over Pride Rock

[Kopa]

Kopa noticed his younger sister Kiara and inwardly groaned. Well, there goes his plans. He noticed she smiled but shrugged. He then heard her say morning. He answered,"Hey Kiara." He didn't understand how she was going to be the heir, but it didn't really matter anymore. He missed his father as well, and he could tell by the expressions of his siblings they did too. "I'm asking Kion and Mega if they wanted to explore er- I mean patrol the Pridelands." he hoped his sister didn't see the look in his eyes that said he wanted to go further than the Pridelands. He looked up at the rising sun and his mind wandered to the time he and his father both sat on Pride Rock, looking at the sunrise. He winced and looked back at Kiara.

His blue eyes and red mane glinted as the sun rose in just the right direction. His eyes showed exhaustion. He hadn't slept in days. He never liked that people mistook him for a younger version of his father. The only attributes he got from his mother were her eyes. He patiently waited for his sister to reply.

[Mega]

"Hey Mega, do you want to Patrol the Pridelands?”

“I would but let’s see what your brothers decides. He is the leader of the lion guard aft-“ he cuts himself off as Kiara approaches them having just awoken it seemed. “Morning” The male greets with a soft smile before turning his gaze to look at the royal siblings and lion guard leader. It confused him to no end why Kopa was so eager to go out and patrol when that was his younger brother’s job.

[Kopa]

Kopa almost forgot that his brother was in the Lion Gaurd. He kinda felt left out though. What was his purpose? His sister thought she was the heir. What was he? "I know but... come on Mega!" He protested.

[Mega]

"I know but... come on Mega!"

Mega turned his head to give the young teenager a look. “Listen, I’m not stopping you. You are free to go out and patrol by yourself. I’m not gonna lie to you and say that it’s not risky, cause it is” he stepped towards Kopa to whisper his next words. “You’re father was killed out there, whose to say the young prince isn’t next on their hit list?” His eyes narrowed with warning.

[Kopa]

Kopa was about to argue, but stopped and started to think about it. I mean, what if he WAS next? He shook his head. No, his mind was made up. "Mega... who's to say it isn't?" He took a quick glance around at the camp. He waited for a reply, his eyes scanning the savannah. He spotted a gorge in the distance, and antelope hopping across the grassy plains. He saw some elephants near the watering hole. Kopa took a deep breath before looking back at Mega. He raised an eyebrow as he asked another question. "And what if I'm meant to do this?"

[Mega]

"Mega... who's to say it isn't?"

The male gives a soft rumble of annoyance. “Don’t” he pressed, eyes narrowing once again to tell the teen there was no point to go out there alone. To wait for his sibling.

"And what if I'm meant to do this?"

“Meant to do what? Die, Break your family’s hearts even more? Look at your family. Think about them for god’s sake” he hissed his whip cord like tail flicked back and forth the tan colored tip slaps the rock. “The Outlands are empty last I heard. Zira, her pride, whoever is with her probably went to join the Blackbloods”

[Kopa]

Kopa growled then collapsed on his stomach, angry and sad all at the same time. Even though he was mad, Kopa knew Mega made a valid point. His family was already in so much pain, and if he died it would be much worst. Kopa also took into account that even if he went to the Outlands, it wouldn't make much of a difference if no one was there to fight.

Kopa looked back at Mega and said,"I just want to give him justice in some way!" He looked away and but his lip. He was trying not to throw himself off the rock and let the pain be over just like that. He resisted though and got to his paws. "And since when did I need permission to roam the Pridelands or patrol it from my brother?"

[Mega]

"I just want to give him justice in some way!"

"And you will" Mega assured him, giving the teen a stern look telling him to stop the outburst. "You don't, I told you before that not one is stopping you from leaving. It's just the risks that come with it i'm worried about" he explained, his head turned to look out at the heard of animals that were currently grazing. "You'll give him justice by helping in this war"

[Kopa]

Kopa was about to argue but realized he was right. "Who's to say I even survive?" he said miserably.

[Mega]

"Who's to say I even survive?"

"What's that suppose to mean?" his brow raised and he turns back to stare at the teenager. "You will, your father will want you, you know that, your family will want you to" he gives a glance over at Kopa's siblings giving a sympathetic look.
