Although she stands at a staggering four feet tall, Nil carries herself like an aristocrat. She is perpetually too good for any of this. At surface level, Nil is cold, prideful and a woman of very few words. Nil believes herself to be a “queen” of sorts primarily because of her skills as a shapeshifter and sorceress. Nil believes what she needs most of all is dignity. Her sense of humor is curt and frigid. However, behind her baroness front, Nil does in fact harbor emotions and caring. She will make bonds with people who have gained her respect; to these very special individuals, Nil is more open to speak with them at length and even partake in lighthearted humor. She also dislikes seeing others go through problems she can relate to. She is also not above occasionally consoling those she feels she has a connection to. Nil, in spite of her heir of pride, believes herself to be physically ugly and will even admit to that fact. She seems to have self-image problems.
Nil is a heavy smoker and has reached the point of dependency. Typically she uses a cigarette holder to complement her regal facade.
Backstory:
Nil has been around for a while, being descended from fair folk and therefore semi-immortal, but she doesn't often share her experiences. Some of this aversion is clearly because of past trauma. Though, she will repeatedly admit to certain things in her past; one, that she and her kind were used by humans as free entertainment, and two, she was formerly involved with a nameless other of her kind who caused a disaster when they launched a rebellion on their keepers. This was "a long time ago", and Nil's life has since moved on, even-though the association with the troublesome other definitely still strikes a nerve with her.
Free to do as she pleased, Nil became deeply involved with black magic; over the course of at least a few hundred years, she turned herself into a sorceress who could at the very least fend for herself. Because of her association with black magic, she was generally viewed as threatening. It's entirely possible her bad reputation is earned. Nil typically kept a low profile to avoid trouble, later adopting an animal form looking like a thylacine to hide her identity. Since she traveled a lot, she had the opportunity to meet Kattz. Interested in him, she initiated a friendship with him that would later become an open polyamorous relationship. Kattz appears to be her favored partner and the pair are clearly very close. Though, Nil seems entirely disinterested in Kattz's adopted daughter, Owl. It's because of this relationship Nil joined the Blackbloods and apparently no other reason.
