Pongo is a laid back, playful and a tad goofy dog. But is occasionally strict. He is clever and determined, caring and mischievous and very fatherly. He can be heroic and protective. But he is also loyal and almost unwavering in the love for his mate and children  

Backstory: 

Pongo lived with his "pet" Roger in a small apartment in London, where Roger played music and was lonely. Pongo was sad at this fact and one day they went to the park, where they met Perdita and her "pet" Anita. Roger and Anita were distant at first, but Pongo and Perdita fell in love with each other and Pongo wanted to see her again. They did, and soon after Pongo and Perdita had 15 puppies, but Cruella De Vil, an evil woman who wanted the pelts of his puppies, wanted Roger to sell them to her. But he refused and she did it anyway with the help of Jasper and Horace. A while after, Pongo found his puppies and they escaped. They moved to a farm and lived happily. Until that is... war hit. His son Lucky went off, and he didn't follow, and he regretted it as he heard that Lucky was killed and this made him angry. He traveled to where the war was happening and found himself in Africa, then... Canada.
