Backstory:
Python. The serpent dragon that guarded the Oracle of Delphi, Pythia, and resided in the so believed center of the world in Delphi by the Ancient Greeks and Romans. Python was dutiful in their duties of guarding the Oracle from mortal harm, both within and beyond. But a threat from a god? That wasn't on the list!
Python was slayed by Apollo via bow and arrows, because of a case of mistaken identity for the actual serpent that pursued his mother, Leto, throughout the lands to stop the deliverance of him and Artemis. That, and they wouldn't let him to see the Oracle of Delphi. The actual serpent itself was later slaughtered by Apollo, but because of his act of murdering an innocent creature, Zeus told Apollo that he needed to redeem hiself for such a heinous crime. Thus, Apollo founded the Pythian Games, as a way to atone for what he did.
However, Python later returned to the mortal plane thanks to their mother, Gaia. It took a few hundred years but the serpent was born again, and was pissed. Their position as the guardian was gone because of one of the Olympians (he ever took it over!), they was killed in a case of mistaken identity, and now most of their power was gone because of what it took to come back! All they had left was their claws, fangs, some of their wit, and the barest power over the raw earth.
Oh, how they now hated the Gods with a vengence. The Olypmians were no better then mere mortals. They took over as the head gods from the Titans, imprisoned many of their half siblings after the Titanomachy, and many other such crimes. There was no way in hell they'd ever side with them in anything, even if their life was on the line. Well, maybe, but still...
It soon became known that the time they returned was a hellish one. The world was at war with three factions at the head of it all. They decided to keep their tail safe and stay neutral for now. But who knew what would happen expect for the fates? Time could only tell.
