Michi let out a tiny yawn, licking her paw before drawing it over her ear, quickly loosing interest in the dalmatian and Jasper. She stood up, the sudden growling in her stomach telling her it was time to find breakfast. However before she could take a few steps away from her tent, a pair of feet stumbled over her. This was nothing new to Michi, people were always walking around and over her back in New York.
What was a bit new was this lady actually acknowledged it, and apologized to her. Michi cast her gaze up to the short haired brunette, who had crouched down more to her level, and cast a lopsided smile. "No worries, 'm used to it," she chuckled, dipping her head to lick her chest fur, "Where I'm from there's a lot more people, and they never seem to pay attention to where they're goin'..." She looked up at the lady again, seeing the worried look on her face. Giving a small shake of her head, she got to her paws and spun in a small circle, "See, not a scratch. 'M fine."

"Thank you," she nodded quietly to Boso, and then took the pail. There was a thick stew inside, along with a hunk of bread that was already turning soggy from soaking up broth. Her tent already had a large water jug to prevent dehydration in the savanna heat, so she also fetched herself a glass and then dug into the food.
Hikaru paused and looked up at Boso when he asked her about the Blackbloods. She took a moment to finish swallowing her current mouthful before stating simply, "They don't. I ran away."
She took a moment to eat more of her food before adding, "They wanted me to torture people. I didn't want to. So I left."
For her it was that simple. Hikaru was a frank person. She didn't say much beyond what was needed to be said. But she also wasn't a reticent person. She was more than content to answer any questions Boso peppered her with, "I joined the freedom fighters because I was told I wouldn't need to torture people here..."
At least that was what the prisoner she had rescued said. Hikaru had brought them back here for their sake, even if it meant she'd be a prisoner. But she wanted to join this fight. She didn't know anything else but fighting... so she might as well fight for people she felt were... good.

"I'm glad you're okay," Rapunzel was relieved, but found the fact that the kitten was used to being tripped over kinda sad. The princess of Corona reached up to tuck her hair behind her ear out of habit. It was a pointless gesture as her hair was now too short to stay in place behind her ear, but some habits were hard to break.
"My name is Rapunzel!" she extended her hand out to the kitten for a handshake, her bright smile returning. She may not be able to do much about the kitten's past, but she can certainly do her best to be a good friend in the here and now. Rapunzel was pretty good at turning away from the dark past and focusing on the bright future.
"I'm a medic here. So if you ever do get a scratch or something, you can come find me and I'll patch you up!"

One of the first things the young hound had learned since joining up with the Freedom Fighters was that there was a ton of new scents to follow. So many in fact that it was quite easy to get turned around, much to Copper's frustration. Another thing he'd learned was that magic was a thing, but that was another matter entirely.
Cold, black nose was pointed to the ground as Copper weaved in between the various rows of tents that lined the campsite. His tail was held up in the air, pale tip flicking back and forth slightly. It was a scene very reminiscent of the one when he'd first met Tod, though without the tripping over his ears part. As his sense of smell followed the scent of... something(he wasn't quite sure what yet), his sense of hearing quickly picked up on the sounds of talking. Lifting his head, Copper smiled as he saw a young pup talking to a man. That was another thing he'd learned while he was here; humans could understand him now. He didn't really know how(his guess was that magic thing) or why, but it certainly came in handy not having to come up with ways to get the people around him to understand him. Abandoning the scent for now, Copper trotted over to them and placed himself near the pup.
"Hi." He barked softly, directing the greeting to them both. "My name's Copper. What're your names?" he asked, his tail wagging lazily behind him.

Lucky's smile slipped a bit when his yip failed to earn him a pat on the head. The man addressed him more like an equal, and that...should have been a welcome sign, but it wasn't. Not when the pup was used to having his Pets bend to his will and pet him every time he barked at them, or did something for them, like fetch their keys... "Good morning, sir." He half-mumbled, disappointed. Guess the humans around here weren't as easy to please.
Another soft bark drew Lucky's attention. He turned to behold an older hound dog. Not old like Mom or Dad but still grown up. Lucky smiled and his tail wagged slowly. "Hi! My name's Lucky. You... might have heard of me." He turned his nose up proudly, smirking. "The Hero of Dearly Farm?" Well, he and his siblings, but details details...

Post by Shani on Jan 30, 2018 17:09:50 GMT
Shani poked her head out of the medics' sleeping tent. She blinked in the light of the morning sun, the wash of pastel colours mixing with the beige and brown blurs of the tents and surrounding objects.
It seemed other members of the army were also up early, she could hear several different voices, some louder than others. Figuring this would be as good a time as any to mingle and get to better know her new 'neighbors', Shani set off in the direction of one of the voices.
Her ears twitched in one direction when she heard a brash voice from inside one of the tents, Bozo? Was that the name? It was then followed by a softer voice that she couldn't quite pinpoint. Her ears swiveled in another direction when she heard Rapunzel's voice. The fellow medic had been quick to make friends with them all, Shani included. Distracted by the different voices, she hadn't realized where she was walking, and accidentally bumped into someone. "Oh, sorry, I didn't see you there," she apologized, looking up at whoever it was she had stumbled into.

Post by Mega on Jan 30, 2018 19:59:43 GMT
"The hero of where now?" Mega stepped around the side of the tent, having never left the Pridelands, the surrounding area or Africa for that matter. The large male was a little confused by the spotted puppy's words. "My name is Mega, it's nice to meet the both of you", his head turned giving Copper a soft smile. Now Mega did interact with the canines of the Pridelands, having a run in with a pack of wild dogs some weeks ago. The notion of what a canine was being much less confusing for him.

Post by Jasper on Jan 31, 2018 19:39:57 GMT
More and more people started to pile out of their tents and Jasper could feel his anxiety rising. It had been a while since such a thing had happened, but this was all new to him and the stress of his new role played a part in it. He tried not to let himself become enveloped in it but such a thing was difficult. He rubbed a hand over his chest, a habit he picked up from his days back home to calm his nerves.
His gaze shifted about from Rapunzel and Michi, to the tent Boso had gone into, and then back to Lucky and Cooper. Hardly seeming to perk as Mega came around the corner, having almost half expected it. He had heard the approaching paw steps, but it still caused him to stiffen a little.
He couldn't let himself be fearful of his soldiers, these were people he had to depend on and they would depend on him.
A thick swallow seemed to quell his nervousness and he breathed out softly, unable to help offer a small smile of 'sorry' down towards Lucky when he seemed disheartened not to receive a pat on the head. "I haven't I apologize, I'm fairly... new around here." New was the understatement of the year but no one really needed to know that. At the question of who he was, he smiled lightly. "Nice to meet you, Copper," He flicked his gaze back to Lucky. "And you as well Lucky. I am Jasper Vangas." He hoped he didn't need to say anything more, he would have hoped that the soldiers and cadets would already know who their leader was. If they didn't, it wouldn't matter the meeting later that night would address most issues.
"How are you two settling into the camp?"

Tug had probably been up since before the sun had risen. Time had melded together so quickly that when he had finally been escorted back to camp everyone else was waking up. A satchel was slung over his large form, filled with all sorts of herbs and flowers that could be used for making medicine. It was important for him to stay stocked up, especially if an emergency were to happen. However what the big lug of a bear was not expecting was come back to see Jasper himself down from Pride Rock chatting up the cadets and peacekeepers. That was a first.
The bear's large brow was quirked as he watched the exchange, silently amazed that he was willing to get down and leveled with them.
He was so entranced that the moment little Shani bumped into his leg he jumped with a little-startled noise, far more squeakier then one would expect. "Whoa- My- Whoa, it's alright. You just startled me there, darling. You alright?" He asked, turning around to look at her before realizing who it was. A wide grin crossed his features. "Shani, g'morning!"

Kopa walked up to the leader, Jasper Vangas. He spoke, "Um, sir do you know what happened to Simba?" He didn't know. it bugged him that he was the only one who didn't know what happened to his father. He waited for Jasper to reply or even notice him.
