Naiche is the type of 'wolfdog' to act like nothing bothers him or gives him the slightest concern. Ninety-nine percent of the time he acts very aloof to everything and isn't annoyed by anything but if someone actually knows him they know that he has a very incredibly low tolerance for idiocy and risky behavior. He has a strong and firm belief in protecting one's own, and an even firmer belief that family comes before anything else.
He also has a firm belief in respecting the earth around one's self and that the land belongs to no one. Everyone is simply sharing it due to mother earth's generosity. So don't come at him with 'well this is my turf' because he will immediately say that shit don't fly. All in all, though, Naiche can be a pretty nice guy and the cool big brother type.
Backstory
Naiche was born human. From the day he opened his eyes, everything he knew and learned and loved was human. Never did he think he would end up being a wolfdog in his life, nor the tragedy that would lead to such an event. Danger had come to his tribe one cold fall evening while he and his tiny sister Onawa were gathering herbs. The danger was in the shape and form of a bear, but Naiche had mistaken the danger as a 'rabid' wolfdog that would not let go of his tiny sister's arm. The wolfdog had ended up wounding her with the force of his jaws trying to yank her into safety but Naiche nor Onawa heeded his frantic behavior.
Little did Naiche know the damn dog was just trying to help.
Naiche had reacted, attacking the wolfdog, fatally injuring it in an attempt to help Onawa only to be far too late. The bear had ripped out from the woods, rushing toward him, his sister and the dying wolfdog. The dumb beast tried to protect them from the bear even as it was dying, and everything else from there was a blur.
He just remembered agony, so much agony, and pain. He felt warmth along his body though, and he could swear he saw the glitter of the auroras, the spirits before he closed his eyes.
When he woke up he was surrounded by his tribes' pack of sleddogs, heads and bodies tucked against him. Keeping him warm and secure, he was injured but safe. When he saw his father though he left the security of the dogs limping towards him. He tried to speak but the man had said something odd with tears streaming down his face and regret in his voice as he ran his hand over his head. Pressing his face into his neck and holding him close.
'Thank you... For trying to save my son and daughter... Thank you.'
For a long few moments, Naiche did nothing but stand there in the grasp of the man he called father, letting the man embrace and old him until he was called away. It felt like it took hours for the realization hit him but it only took a mere moment. The spirits were punishing him for the death of the wolfdog, for the death of his sister too he was certain and now he was stuck in the form of the beast he had murdered.
Never had the world felt heavier. Somehow though, amongst the pain and sorrow, Naiche still pushed forward swearing to himself and the spirits he would make up for his mistakes. He stayed with the tribe's pack, learning how to be a wolfdog from them, how to pull sleds how to work hard for the tribe even in this form. He grew close to one of them in particular, Atka, who he soon grew to think of as his sister. Protecting her from danger and anything that popped up, and it was upon one dark cold night and a discussion with her that he discovered he had murdered her brother. The wolfdog that had tried to save him an Onawa. He said nothing, did nothing, too afraid that if he did it would break the relationship they had...
He still holds that secret to this day, but since that night now he follows her wherever he can, protects her even fiercer, waiting for the right time to tell her everything.
