Genie is at heart, a benevolent, kind, friendly, and bubbly person, who uses his powers to entrain himself and the people around him. He tries to make the best of a situation, usually trying to cheer people up or root them on. He is, however, compassionate and wise, and even though he likes to crack jokes, he can be serious if someone needs him to be. He is a very powerful individual, however, his power had been diminished somewhat.
Backstory:
Genie was once a slave to many masters, all of the masters cruel and unjust. Genie's lamp suddenly disappeared. For 10,000 years it was gone. But legends about its existence reached far and wide. Reaching Jafar in Agrabah. Jafar hunts for it years on end, and when a certain street rat comes along, it was the perfect opportunity. However, the street rat escaped Jafar's retched plan. This street rat's name was Aladdin. He rubbed the lamp, and the Genie came out with a comedic and dramatic yawn. Genie told Aladdin he was a genie. Aladdin is skeptical but tricks Genie into getting him out of the Cave of Wonders, where Genie had resided for 10,000 years. After getting Aladdin out, he promptly helps Aladdin with a girl he liked and had fallen for. The girl's name was Jasmine. But then he tells Aladdin to tell the truth, that he really isn't a prince. Aladdin refuses at first, but slowly Aladdin listens to Genie's advice, and she eventually starts to like Aladdin. They soon are engaged and Genie couldn't have been prouder. Genie and Aladdin were such good friends. To the point where he loved Aladdin almost like a brother. Over the years they went on crazy adventures.
Then war struck. Aladdin joined an army known as the Freedom Fighters, and Genie of course followed. Aladdin doesn't use him at all for a while, but then Aladdin confides in Genie about what he did, and that Aladdin feels awful for what happened in Australia. Genie was unsettled, but he tried to comfort and support Aladdin anyway. After that, he only saw Aladdin once more. and that was on a strange ship.
The ship was the one the remaining Freedom Fighters had gone on after the attack on Pride Rock in Africa. Aladdin told him he was gonna be absent for a while. Genie joked about it and receded into the lamp, but unknowingly, that was the last time he would ever see his friend...
