Personality:
At her heart, Emily is a wanderer. She has no allegiances and no home to speak of. She enjoys harassing and annoying others mostly for her own amusement. She is often sarcastic and overly blunt, even on sensitive subjects, to the point of seeming cruel and untactful. She can also come off as immature, wanting nothing but her own amusement and her own whims fulfilled over those of others.
Her tough exterior, however, is mostly just a front for all the hurt and pain she has experienced in her life. Under all her sarcasm and harsh words, Emily wants to belong. She wants friends and loved ones but would never admit this aloud to most people. She can be fiercely loyal to those she deems friends and is willing to go to extreme lengths for them, even do things she knows is morally wrong. Emily hates anyone having any expectations of goodness from her because she feels she can never live up to their hopes so instead acts out.
Backstory:
Emily was created when her home planet was at war, part of a last-ditch attempt to replace the numbers continually being lost to the fighting. She was grown genetically in a lab with samples of DNA and any missing pieces were hastily filled in with human DNA, so she could be grown quickly and placed on the battlefield as soon as possible. Also, whilst she was being created, the scientists edited her DNA to give her abilities not seen in her species in hopes that this may be helpful in turning the war to their favour.
However, before Emily could ever see the battlefield, the plan was discovered and due to the controversy of what was done the whole plan was cancelled. Due to having parts of his DNA in her, she was given over to the custody of her biological father even though he was wary and not entirely comfortable with her (seeing as she was essentially his child but created without his knowing or consent). Still, he decided to raise her as his daughter despite the unusual circumstances of her creation.
One day, whilst out against her father’s wishes, Emily was shot and almost killed. Not wanting to see his child potentially suffer the same fate twice and continue to wither away as her body attempted to repair itself, her father decided to erase what memories she had and leave her on Earth to live out the rest of her life as a normal girl.
Initially, this plan worked out, Emily went about her life with a new family and a new name, not knowing anything different. However, as she grew older her memories and abilities began to resurface again. Confused, scared, and wanting to find the man in her memories in hopes that he could help her, she ran away from her new home and struck out in search of her father.
Unfortunately, after a few years of tracking him down, he was not happy to see her again. Rejected, Emily found herself now without a home and the only family she had wanted nothing to do with her. (Not knowing his rejection was solely out of concern of what would happen to her if he were to accept her and take her with him)
After facing rejection from her father, Emily set off on her own and ended up taking out all her negative emotions wherever she went. Eventually this gained her attention and notoriety from the newly formed Galactic Federation as she made her way through their controlled space. Eventually, sick of the trouble she was causing they hunted her down and decided to imprison her in a high security facility so that she was no longer a threat to their citizens. Emily, however, proved quite hard to contain with the abilities that she'd now learnt to control and harness to her will. After several attempts at breaking out, eventually a more creative solution had to be found to keep the renegade Time Lord under control. She was imprisoned in a special time-locked facility dreamt up by the Federations most brilliant minds including rising scientists Dr Jacques von Hämsterviel and Jumba Jookiba. Locked in a time loop, Emily would be securely contained and studied for many years earning the title "Prisoner X".
Eventually, even that was not enough. After years of being trapped within her time-locked prison, Emily finally managed to escape with the largest use of her powers to date, shattering the time loop and letting her escape. However, this left her severely drained and weak from such a massive outburst of power and she retreated to the one place she knew she could recover safely: Earth. However, despite wanting to return to London, she instead found herself in Paris as she was too weak to make the full trip.
