Mheetu wants to be considered a good lion, someone who is loved rather than feared, and to do the right thing always. He loves his family deeply, is willing to do almost anything for them, but at the same time is more conscious than his half-siblings about his parents’ flaws (particularly his father, Scar’s). He is not afraid to call out others when he believes they are wrong or his disagrees with them, in fact, he sees it as necessary because in his mind a better way is always an option.
Backstory:
Mheetu was born shortly after Scar’s ascension to the throne of the Pridelands alongside his half-brother, Nuka, and half-sister, Kula. Being the healthiest male from all the cubs Scar currently had, he was the one picked to be his father’s heir. As such, he was named for the Pridelands’ greatest king, Mohatu, in hopes that he would grow into a king as equally powerful. However, he acquired a very different name as he began to take his first toddling steps, constantly trailing after his older half-sister, Nala, with cries of “me too!” and thus he was affectionately called Mheetu.
Like the rest of his family, Mheetu was driven from the Pridelands when Simba returned. Initially, he was furious with Nala for siding with their enemies and forcing them to leave the only home they had ever known. How could she? She was his sister! However, as time passed, he slowly began to think. What if Nala and Simba were telling the truth? What if Scar had murdered his uncle, Mufasa, as they claimed he had? He knew his father could be ruthless to his enemies but murdering family? Would his father do that? Mheetu didn't know but these questions continued to sit in the back of his mind as they made their new home in Agrabah. His father's choice of allies further made Mheetu question if his father was truly the great lion he'd been led to believe all his life.
Mheetu wasn't in Agrabah when his father was killed, instead he was away on a mission in the desert, and as soon as he heard the news he returned. His mothers would need him, his siblings would need him.
