April 15th
Anxiety pulled at the lioness’s chest, so much could go wrong and she had much to lose. Still, she needed to try, her grandchildren were in danger and she knew that she must do everything within her power to try and defend them. Her son was gone, as was her daughter-in-law, her daughter, her mate, she would not lose another family member without fighting her hardest to try and save them.
It was for that reason that Sarabi had come into the Dawnseekers camp, aware of some the eyes on her as she moved through it and the suspicion they held. Still, she held her head high and walked on, she had been a queen once and she had not forgotten how to rise above it all. She hoped that the council would be gracious enough to meet with her to discuss the future after the debacle that was Jasper’s trial. So much had gone wrong and so quickly that it seemed a miracle they managed to all stand united if not without an undercurrent of distrust from the some of the soldiers.
Kiara. Kopa. Kion. Kanzi. Focus on them. They are who you’re here for.
She stopped just in the centre of the camp, easy to find if the Council had indeed decided to meet with her. Sarabi supposed she would know soon enough whether her request had been welcomed or denied entirely.

Kiara hadn't expected the honor of a Council position to be presented to any of the lions, herself least of all. Shani at least had the benefit of working closely with the army prior to... Everything. Kiara had the political training to maintain peace between groups of various temperaments and motivations it was true, but did she have what it took to keep the status quo of an army in check? Or was it not a matter of ability at all but simply a ploy in and of itself to united the pride with the army again, by promoting the child of Jasper and Simba to a position of power as a figurehead rather than as a real player of the game?
Did it matter either way?
She wasn't sure.
When Sarabi had made it apparent that she wished to meet with the newly-appointed Council of the minted Dawnseekers Kiara's ears had perked. With what confidence the young lioness could muster she'd made her way to the camp's center as well, one eye out for her fellow Council members as she took a seat in Canada's cool soil.
