Full Name: Alan Cameron Kattz
Known Aliases: Mr. Kattz, call him “fat cat“ if you want to annoy him
Army: Blackbloods
Rank: Ghazi Warrior
Gender: Cis Male
Age: Died roughly a hundred years ago at the age of 48
Personality:
Although large and cantankerous, extended exposure to Kattz only makes him less and less intimidating. Kattz is a fussy and pretentious artist who believes it’s his duty to show the world his vision. This goal is often at odds with his extremely greedy tendencies: he respects feats of storytelling, and would be capable of them himself if he didn’t always sink to the lowest common denominator in order to maximize his profits. The werecat is prone to anxious fits brought about by excessive worrying over his security and the security of his friends. Even so, he isn’t necessarily a pushover and is usually aware of his own strength: using it to bully what he wants out of others if under pressure. His overdramatic and grouchy demeanor can be a turn-off, but Kattz has a strong guardian instinct and will sometimes pick out individuals he wants to protect.
Backstory:
Born at the start of the 1900’s, Kattz used to be a human who dreamed of being a director in the then-emerging film industry. He was best friends with an artistic collaborator named Ed. Their partnership seemed promising, but after his second wife had an affair with Ed, Kattz withdrew and became depressed. Later, in an attempt to make amends, Ed got him a job at a studio. At that point, Kattz was desperate to get the attention of his superiors in order to move up in the entertainment industry. It was this reckless abandon that led Kattz to be violently killed on set; falling off the light rigging and into a power generator where he was electrocuted.
He was turned into an undead werecat and haunted the site of his death before being driven away by an exorcism. After this, he spent his afterlife in Halloween Town. After settling there, he would rarely haunt himself, but rather took up the role of a director and planner for the other ghouls and monsters. Although, he could never hope to match the charisma and popularity of the Pumpkin King; especially considering his push to make Halloween a more commercial holiday. It was no secret Kattz was greedy and manipulative. Because he was seen as lesser, Kattz was very lonely until he adopted another werecat named Owl. Kattz fell into the role of father quite well, although he was notedly overprotective. Now an adult, Owl was faced with no pressure to move out by her father; though she still technically lives with him, she travels frequently. Kattz still worries whenever she’s out of his sight. It was his anxiety that caused him to pick a side, feeling, as a supernatural creature, he might be targeted. He (and Owl by extension) joined the Blackblood Alliance for protection.
