Rhea just had to wait to time this right, and it couldn't have been a better moment. As of that moment, she was pretty much the only one in the room with the winged angel so she needed to act fast or have to hold her peace unless Hades somehow popped the question to Jenn... if he actually ever did. She loved her son, she really did, but while he was very clever, he just wouldn't take a risk when it seemed to be fruitful. That, and she already knew that Jenn held the same feelings, so, it was a win-win situation.
"Ah, Jenn!" She greeted the purple haired angel warmly. "I need to speak with you about something important. Well, more like ask you something important, but I digress." Rhea had paused when she faced Jenn. This woman would be a wonderful spouse to her son. Beautiful, immortal, and someone who was good in a fight, which was what Hades needed at his side. All though, she wouldn't let things happen like it did for her, but that was neither here nor there. Now was the time to ask before her courage faded.
"Would you do me the honor of marrying my son, and thus becoming my future daughter in law?"

Wasn't often Jenn had time to herself anymore.
The angel was stretched thin, between her duties as adviser, helping with everything going on with the Rogues, and helping Hades with everything in the Underworld.
So when she got some downtime, she made sure to enjoy the free time. This time was spent listening to music on a device one of the other Rogues introduced her to.
"Cause I got what you need, so come with me and take the ride It'll take you to the other side-"
Jenn looked up as Rhea's voice cut through her song. Pausing the music, she gave the titaness a smile, "Sure thing Rhea."
"..." She blinked a couple times, wondering if perhaps she had misheard her. No, Rhea had definitely just asked that. Cue purple feathers fluffed out like a spooked owl. A blush quickly spreading across her face, her mind buzzing with incoherent thoughts. Oh how she wished she could just sink through the floor.
"I... what?"

That... was not the reaction that Rhea was expecting. Jenn had puffed her wings up like a scared bird trying to look much bigger, and the blush in her pale face could put Aphrodite to shame! Rhea's single good eye just widened and she frowned in surprise at the whole display. Did she ask it wrong? No, she rehearsed it in her mind so many damn times, so she had to have done it right. Then again, it was a bold thing to ask, but love was a tricky thing.
"I... suppose I could have worded that better?" She mused quietly to herself when she brought her hand to her face in a questioning posture. "But the question does still stand, my dear. I love my son, truly, but while he may be clever and full of tricks, he... doesn't exactly take risks sometimes when it is right in front of his face for the taking. I know you both feel love towards each other, and it doesn't take a love goddess to see it, but that may be my old age talking."
Rhea then paused, mostly to catch her thoughts and to let Jenn speak. Oh, now she wondered how Hades could react. Stammering over his words and not being the pinnacle of his usual godily stature, most likely. The image of him going completely red from flames to the end of his cloaks was an amusing thought though.

"I mean... yeah, we have feelings for each other, but it's not like either of us really have acted much on them. We've both been too busy with adviser things, plus Hades has his full time gig with everything down here. I mean, we haven't even had a date yet? Mir... Mar... fuck, words! Marriage just seems like something a bit further off, and by that I mean way further off. Not to mention we're kinda in the middle of a war, do we even have time for something like that..."
She paused, giving herself time to collect her thoughts before she became unable to articulate her sentences. "Sorry... rambling. But like... you get my point, yeah?"

Jenn did have a good point when it came down to it. They were in the middle of a war that was tearing the earth apart with differing ideals and loyalties, which reminded her of the Titanomachy a little too well. But this time, her role would be more direct, or well, as direct as it could be. A Titan was still a Titan, after all. Though, she did have an idea.
"You have a point, young one," Rhea replied as if she were speaking to a child, though Jenn was an adult. An adult that was an immortal angel in a humanoid form, but an adult nonetheless. "But you could think of it this way. Imagine, Hades, the God of the Underworld, and you, his queen and both of you as a symbol for our army as those who stand together and smite our enemies together side by side! It'd be a great boon of morale for the troops, and something to rally behind. Besides, doesn't the God that Angels usually follow prefer marriage as soon as possible?"
That... probably wasn't true, Rhea. But the titan could be forgiven for being mistaken, as she had been out of the loop of the workings of the world for centuries as things changed. That, and if it was something considering other deities that weren't Greek, then she was rather clueless. Assumptions and hearing things from ignorant mortals probably didn't help.

From the shadows, the god that the two of them were discussing future…engagements of slowly drummed his fingers on his arm, watching them with narrowed eyes. His hair began to shift from its normal blue color to the brighter colors of red and orange, as he decided he could no longer hold back.
“MOTHER!” Hades bellowed, throwing his arms behind his back like a child throwing a tantrum. The flames on his head traveled all the way down to the tendrils of his clothes, suddenly disappearing as quickly as they had appeared, while he drew in a deep breath, before placing his hands together like a steeple.
“Mother, I thought we had discussed that you would stay out of…personal matters in my life. I’m a god! I can handle it, I’m not a child, and I decide what I want.” Hades said, his tone wavering somewhere between anger and sarcasm. Before Rhea could even answer him, he then made his way over to Jenn, having heard what the angel had discussed with Rhea. He crossed his arms over his chest, almost as if he was going to berate her. Instead, he looked down to her with a questioning gaze.
“Jenn…ah…are all those things you said true? About…well, about how you feel? It’s not just me?” Hades asked, in a surprising turn of tone from how he’d acted moments before.

"I... I don't know? I don't really know anything about other angels. And that's not really a point of discussion anyway. I just... gods, I don't know. What do you want me to say?" She saw her point, she really did. It just didn't seem like something that would happen anytime soon, especially since neither had really officially confessed their feelings. Sure, it was blatantly obvious to everyone at this point, themselves included, but-
speak of the devil. As if the whole conversation wasn't awkward enough, it seemed someone had been listening in the entire time. Jenn visibly flinched, again wishing that a void would just appear in the floor and she could escape before it got more embarrassing.
In spite of herself, a slight chuckle escaped Jenn's chest. The fact that Hades was complaining to his mother about her treating him like a child, in a tone that sounded very much like a child, was a bit of amusement she needed in this situation. Then he turned to her, and all lightheartedness was gone, again replaced with the awkward. Damn the awkward.
Cue an eye-roll, and the slightest smile crossing her face, "Duh," she spoke, not even thinking about what she was saying, "Gods Hades, I love you, but you can be so damn oblivious-" Pause. Realization. shiiiiit. There was a moment of dead silence, before a long sigh was let out, and with an oddly calm tone she said, "I'm just gonna go throw myself into the styx now and save myself further embarrassment." She then made an attempt to walk past the two other immortals, though she knew full well they wouldn't let her leave, but damn if she wouldn't try.

Rhea was definitely not expecting the sudden bellow from Hades, who came out from the shadows after listening for long enough, it seemed. It put her so highly on edge, even though it was her son. He'd never hurt her, she knew that, but the alarm bells were still on high alert as it was. The titan went absolutely quiet and merely look at her son as he acted like a child in response to what she said to Jenn. A part of her knew that he was right, he wasn't a child, and he could take care of himself and his life. But another part of her just wished to see him happy.
She couldn't even reply to him before he went to Jenn, and now things got a bit... awkward. Jenn admitted her feelings without as much as a thought, and went quiet. Welp, that was one way to get Jenn to confess to Hades, even if it wasn't what Rhea had hoped. But as she was getting back to her senses, Jenn said she was... going to jump into the Styx!? It was likely sarcasm, but she wasn't going to take that chance!
"Jenn, no," The titan spoke with a motherly but hushed tone as she tried to reach out to Jenn to stop her. She was still getting back to her senses from before. "You're staying here. But Hades..." She looked at her son with one eye that came out more as a glare before she spoke.
"Do not yell like that again." She spoke with authority towards Hades. "I am your mother, and I do not need that tone from you. Just... please don't do it again." She then went quiet again, as the fight in her kind of died down for the second time. She didn't want to, nor need to explain any further to Hades, or anyone else for that matter. The scars were enough...

As she seemed to confess quite openly, Hades splayed his hands together, fingertips up. His eyes were a little contemplative but words seemed to escape him a moment as she walked around them. He'd stay facing away from them, letting out a low hum as his mother would stop her. He'd bring a hand up when he was told not to yell, combing it back through his beautiful burning locks.
"Right, right, right- control myself. Got it."
He turned back to them both, gliding past them both and turning back.
"Walk with me."
He spoke to Jenn, then gave a little smirk to Rhea. If she wouldn't leave, he'd leave her. "Sorry mother, but your services are no longer needed." He'd laugh a little, moving away with Jenn, assuming Rhea didn't follow. He was taking them toward the other end of the castle, where calmer heads and....matriarchal figures weren't badgering. Once there, he'd pop into a side room, grabbing Jenn by the arm and pulling her inside. He'd shut and lock the door. Then, he'd take a deep breath and turn around.
"Love is a hard thing for a Go-" He scowled. "For me." He would roll his eyes and walk around her. They were in a little cross hallway, where webs and dust showed it was obviously very unused. He'd finger gun point at a large chandelier in the hall, the candles exploding into flame and casting light throughout the hallway. He blew smoke off his finger and turned back to her.
"You said it, babe- I'm King. And we're leading a war effort. Time for little festivities like a wedding just aren't in the cards. But we can ah....talk about..." He rested his head in his heads. "What what what am I trying to say here? Right, okay, direct- I love you too, lets have ourselves some time together, try that dating deal and we'll see where it goes, yeah? Yeah. That's a good talk."
He wasn't like that human, selling a soul for the chance to heal someone. He didn't get to have those kinds of luxuries....did he? He'd start storming past her, the cold blue of his face marred by a tinging purple- the God of the Underworld miiiight be blushing. A little.
Damn anyone who pointed it out.

Well so much for leaving. Grumbling under her breath as Rhea stopped her from going to dunk her head in Leith water to forget the whole ordeal, she listened to the mother scold her son. He seemed to simply brush her off, and perhaps it was due to brain fog, but before she knew it, she was being led away to a more secluded place.
Keeping her mouth shut, Jenn listened to Hades speak, and while she was used to the confident, fast-talking, almost salesman like tone he usually spoke in, this wasn't that. This time, while he was still fast-talking, it was less so confident and more stumbling over and trying to find the right words. She would know, it happened to her on an almost daily basis.
When he outright said the "L" word, any composure the angel might have been trying to keep was ruined by the feathers on her wings ruffling, looking all "puffed out", and no doubt her face had gone red.
As he tried to leave, she caught the hem of his sleeve in a momentary vice-like grip, before her hand relaxed and she spoke in a quiet, hesitant voice, "... thank you."
She let him go, moving to walk past him and head to her room to give her mind a chance to calm down. The angel stopped mid stride however, and, as though the previous conversation hadn't literally ruffled her feathers, gave Hades a narrowed stare, "By the way, you should be a little nicer to your mum, I know what she did was a bit… forward, but her heart is in the right place. Okay… well… hang out later I guess, if you're not busy… see ya." With that she walked past and headed off in the direction of her room, placing ear buds in as she went.
