Backstory:
Hiro grew up in San Fransokyo, (an alternate city between the mix of Tokoyo and San Fransisco) with his older brother Tadashi, who was a student at the Institute of Technology. His parents were never mentioned or shown. So he lived with his Aunt Cass. He loved building bots, so one day, he made a new type of technology. And he won at a bot tournament. He would later showcase this new tech called micro-bots. The crowd was impressed, and Hiro felt actual pride. But this wouldn't be important until later. Before this, he had met some friends of Tadashi (who Hiro admired and loved more than anyone) who seemed interesting and also enrolled at the Institute of Technology. They showed him their impressive technology, and he didn't exactly take lightly to them. At first
Tadashi then showed him Baymax, a health robot. Hiro was sort of annoyed with Baymax. Later, he tries to show off his invention, and something horrible happens. There was a big fire and his brother had to rush in to save a man named Professor Callaghan. But the building exploded, and Tadashi was killed. but the professor hadn't died, and later he learns that this guy was the bad guy, but only wanted to save his daughter. Hiro, wanting revenge, uses Baymax and Tadashi's friends to destroy Callaghan. But Callaghan had stolen the micro-bots and controlled them with a mask.
They use their tech to make superhero suits. Hiro finds out what really happened. And a big fight ensues. He had grown close with Baymax over the time that they had, and Hiro was happy to call him a friend, and even mourn him. Which he did, until Baymax returned. Hiro and Baymax shared some pretty hearty moments. But on the months that followed, he had gotten word of something big going down elsewhere. He traveled to Canada, and he had gotten caught up with the Dawnseekers. He decided to join them cause they looked like they needed the help. He brought along Baymax, because... health robot, duh.
