Full Name: Turbo
Known Aliases: King Candy, Virus
Army:
Rank:
Gender: Cis Male
Age: 36
Personality:
Sometimes, Turbo projects himself as energetic and bubbly, if mildly flamboyant; a fun guy. He's pretty goofy... so long as he's entertained. Once being friendly bores him, then playtime can truly begin. To his core, Turbo is self-centered and meddlesome. His idea of "playing" typically involves the discomfort of others. He gets a real kick out of messing with people. Given his insufferable ego, he has a soft spot for attention. Flattery may convince him to stop harassing you. It's Turbo's goal to be noticed! He has a fear of abandonment and will fight to keep even people he supposedly dislikes around just so he isn't totally alone.
Backstory:
Turbo learned to be resentful of humans early on, when his first boyfriend was unplugged before they could celebrate their first Valentine’s Day together. He spent a few years being the most popular game in the arcade, gradually learning to enjoy being loved by humans. During this time, he also delved into messing with code. But, as it happened, his game fell out of popularity and his spite-fueled revenge attempt ended in his game and his rival’s game getting unplugged. Turbo had to scrape out a living in secrecy for years after.
He finally made the leap into what would eventually turn him into a full-fledged virus by taking over another game. Although he had been squatting in other games previously, Turbo had never extensively modified code before Sugar Rush. When all was done, Turbo removed the true ruler of Sugar Rush, Vanellope, from power and replaced her with himself. Turbo operated for fifteen years under the guise of “King Candy” and the entire arcade was never the wiser. During this time, he occasionally traveled outside his arcade, tapping into the Internet and Wifi signals. A neighboring game’s bad guy, Wreck-it Ralph, arrived on a self-imposed mission to become a hero. And, indeed, Ralph achieved this by revealing Turbo and returning Vanellope to her rightful place. This didn’t happen without some peril, as Ralph also led creatures known as Cybugs into Sugar Rush. During the chaos, Turbo was consumed by and fused with one of the Cybugs. The abomination formerly known as Turbo was destroyed… or so the arcade hoped.
Due to so thoroughly integrating himself into Sugar Rush, Turbo managed to respawn and live on. He had been a criminal in his own arcade before, but now he was seen as something worse: a monster. He revealed himself as alive and was met with hostility. Feeling any attempt at redeeming himself would be wasted on these people, Turbo once again took to the Internet. He managed to sweet-talk a low-ranking Blackblood into bringing him into the physical world by transferring his memories into a mostly magically created avatar. Turbo submitted himself to the Blackblood's ranks, citing his skills as a hacker and the whole... terrifying bug monster transformation as desirable to their cause. Ever paranoid, Turbo has his consciousness backed up digitally but that, for some reason, seemed to slip his mind when describing himself to his superiors.
Turbo found himself thoroughly frustrated with the Blackbloods, eventually coming to view them as snotty. The straw that broke the camel's back was a fiasco with a leviathan where he had managed to save a good number of soldiers whereas fellow Overseer Frollo was negligent as their general. After exiting the battle and dropping the Blackbloods off on shore, Turbo flew back out to sea, leaving his fate ambiguous as far as the Blackbloods knew. He decided to he would escape to the Internet and lurk for a while. Given no one was near as skilled as he, a literal virus, in all things digital, Turbo managed to do some limited spying on the Blackbloods for a while, well after he was presumed dead due to never (physically) returning. Turbo was incensed that his fellow Overseer was never confronted for his failure. More importantly, Turbo wasn't even acknowledged for his heroic deed.
Using his presumed deadness to his advantage, Turbo promptly buggered off to the Rogues, insisting the Blackbloods were "too cliquey".
