Physical Description:
Aujaq is a very large animal, easily dwarfing a lot of the other cats he associates with. On a surface level, he looks almost like a normal lion only much larger than typical with only a partial mane implying he's a young teenager when actually he is nearly fully grown. He is very muscular and heavily built with thicker fur than an average lion.

Backstory:
Aujaq was born on the vast plains to the south where large herds of both bison and mammoths roamed. His mother was not one for tolerating either weaklings or fools and had been hoping for a female cub rather than a male to stay with her and Aujaq's father and help them bring in food for their small group. His mother was going to give him no help beyond what she needed to. He quickly learnt to navigate his dangerous world alone and was one of the few cubs who survived past cubhood and into adulthood. However, when he was an adolescent, his mother and father were quick to chase him off. They had done their part and now he had to fend for himself, they would have new cubs to try and raise soon and Aujaq was now a burden.
For a while, he refused to leave the outskirts of his parents' territory, afraid to actually leave all that he had ever known despite knowing that if he was found he would be chased off with tooth and claw. Most of all, he chafed at being on his own for the first time in his life and was desperate for someone, anyone, to stave off his growing loneliness. Eventually, after growing stronger off stolen carcasses and teaching himself to hunt down large bison, Aujaq turned north to find his own place and people.
